The “Tracht - Gwand - Mode” collection is a branch of the Glentleiten Open-Air Museum in Benediktbeuern, and preserves a unique collection of regional clothing culture. It comprises around 20,000 original items of clothing and accessories as well as around 40,000 pictures documenting the diversity of traditional costumes and fashions. The collection is complemented by an extensive library with many bibliophile treasures.

In addition to the preservation and presentation of these valuable objects, research and education are central tasks of the centre. The centre also serves as a contact point for anyone looking for well-founded information and advice on all aspects of traditional costume.
