All aboard! Railway fans should have their tickets ready for a variety of railway traffic: from modern ICE trains to historic trams and steam locomotives. One highlight is the Deutsche Dampflokomotiv Museum (German Steam Locomotive Museum) in Neuenmarkt in Upper Franconia. It is located in a former depot of the Neuenmarkt-Wirsberg station at the foot of Europe's first steep railway line, the "Schiefe Ebene." Here you can also see the famous saloon dining car 10 242 from 1937, which accompanied important personalities such as the chancellors Konrad Adenauer and Willy Brandt, as well as Queen Elizabeth II, on their journeys. Further recommendations are the DB Museum Nürnberg (DB Museum Nuremberg), the Deutsches Museum Verkehrszentrum (German Museum Traffic Centre) in Munich, or Lokwelt Freilassing.
