A dream connection for every aviation enthusiast: at one of Germany's oldest preserved airports (built between 1912 and 1919), the Deutsches Museum (German Museum) has been displaying parts of its extensive collection on aviation and aerospace history since 1992. With 70 aircraft and helicopters on display, Flugwerft Schleißheim offers a tour through all eras, from the Lilienthal glider to the Eurofighter. The core of the facility is formed by the lavishly restored airport buildings. They have been extended by a modern exhibition hall and a restoration workshop that can be viewed by visitors.
