Gustav Weißkopf Museum (German Aviation Pioneer Museum Gustav Weißkopf)

Special features:
Shop.

The exhibition focuses on the aviation pioneer Gustav Weißkopf, born in Leutershausen, and the mystery surrounding the first powered flight: What evidence is there of his first flight on 14 August 1901 and what challenges did Weißkopf face? Within the framework of the exhibition, the existing circumstantial evidence is presented to visitors as a "mystery story". True to the title "Pioneers of the Skies", the museum is also dedicated to other tinkerers, adventurers and record hunters who, after the birth of motorised flight, took incalculable risks and dangers upon themselves.

The exhibition is rounded off by numerous test and experiment stations on physical phenomena that made flying possible for mankind in the first place.
