The Museum of Garden Culture traces the development of gardening and garden design and preserves knowledge about plants, gardens and horticulture. A large part of the exhibition is dedicated to the future of garden culture. The museum gardens invite garden lovers and nature enthusiasts to explore them on walking tours. As a unique place in Germany, the museum combines exhibitions, a library, garden grounds and indoor and outdoor experience rooms. After ten years of changing exhibitions, it has been offering a longer-term museum design in a new concept since mid-2025. The museum showcases aspects of Swabian and European garden history. Gardens are more than just green spaces – they reflect their time. From monastery gardens to gardens of the future, it becomes clear how gardens represent our lives, our nutrition and our relationship with nature.
