The museum presents stations in regional and European garden history, illustrating famous gardens, garden fashions and garden technology. The walk leads from the early medieval monastery garden "Hortulus" on the island of Reichenau in Lake Constance, via the Renaissance gardens of the ingenious architect Joseph Furttenbach to the allotment gardens, house gardens and private paradises of the 20th century.
A look at the present day reveals the wide range of garden principles, such as the climate-conscious vertical garden in the wake of global hortitecture ambitions.
Antonia Botanika guides visitors through the hands-on programme for children and young people. There are activity stations for all those who want to explore the garden with all their senses. In the worm optic, at the seed microscope, in the garden poetry greenhouse or in the botanical art workshop, special experiences can be made at any time.
