Haus der Natur (House of nature)
Important information:
The natural history museum shows evolutionary, biological and ecological connections since the Big Bang, especially with the help of dioramas. The focus is on formations and on the flora and fauna of German landscapes. A butterfly collection with 144 species from the Vilstal valley, most of which are now extinct, is a rarity. A climate and a space section extend the exhibition. A 4 km long nature trail leads visitors from the museum into the great outdoors.
