Schlossmuseum auf Schloss Johannisburg (Castle Museum at Johannisburg Castle)
The Schlossmuseum der Stadt Aschaffenburg (Aschaffenburg Castle Museum) occupies an area of approx. 1400 m² in Schloss Johannisburg (Johannisburg Castle) with its collections on the history of the town, arts and crafts, painting, sculpture and contemporary Aschaffenburg artists. In the keep, works by the sculptor Hans Juncker (1582-1623/24) are mainly on display. Acquisitions by contemporary artists from Aschaffenburg provide a representative overview of art in the region. The following rooms present arts and crafts from the important Lautenschläger Collection (17th-19th centuries). The "Clemens Brentano Memorial Room" preserves donations from the estate of the poet (1778-1842). One room is dedicated to the Dammer stoneware manufactory, which flourished from 1830 to 1880 in what is now the Damm district of Aschaffenburg.
