The effort involved in the production of porcelain, from the raw materials to the finished decorated piece, can be understood and experienced at the Porzellanikon Selb (Porzellanikon Selb), one of two locations of Europe's largest specialised museum for porcelain. The history of the Rosenthal company and its products is told in the former kiln house of the porcelain factory. The technical ceramics impressively demonstrate that porcelain is not only used to make crockery. Whether man-sized mixing containers for the chemical industry, dipping moulds for the well-known latex gloves, electrical insulators and capacitors or state-of-the-art products for the fields of biomedicine, computer technology and automotive engineering - all of this is gathered here.
