Event: A Journey Through Porcelain: Painting at the Manufactories

Saturday, 17 October 2026, 10:30 - 12:00

Location: Porzellanikon Selb (Porzellanikon Selb)

Experience the art of porcelain painting and its highlights!

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of artistic porcelain painting – unique, steeped in tradition and masterfully executed. Discover significant works from renowned manufacturers such as Meissen, Augarten, Sèvres, Nymphenburg, Ludwigsburg, Herend and the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin (KPM). A special highlight: the unique designs by Selb-based artist Helmut Drexler. His works combine traditional decorative techniques such as gold, lustre and relief painting with an innovative spirit of experimentation. Originally derived from industrial porcelain production, Drexler transforms these techniques into artistic forms of expression – thereby creating fascinating, one-of-a-kind pieces that captivate the viewer.

Afterwards, enjoy a bite to eat at the museum restaurant ‘Altes Brennhaus’ before diving into a shopping spree at the outlet centres. Show your museum admission ticket and you’ll receive a discount!
