Oberpfälzer Volkskundemuseum (Upper Palatinate Folklore Museum)
The keyword "industrialisation" runs like a red thread through the collections in the former "Great Chancellery", a stately administrative building from the 15th century. In over 35 departments, visitors gain a detailed insight into the folk culture and way of life in the Upper Palatinate from the 18th to the 20th century. In addition to urban and rural residential ensembles, the Oberpfälzer Folklore Museum (Upper Palatinate Folklore Museum) shows working methods and products from agriculture, handicrafts and industry, as well as folk piety, traditional costume, folk music and customs in the course of the year and life. Other focal points are town, museum and regional history. A separate section is dedicated to the town's greatest son, the rococo master builder Johann Michael Fischer (1692-1766).
