The historically significant building complex of the Museum Dingolfing (Dingolfing Museum) comprises three buildings, all of which were erected between 1410 and 1477: the Herzogsburg, one of the best-preserved late Gothic profane buildings in Lower Bavaria, the Pfleghof as an official building and the Getreidekasten as the dukes' storehouse and stables. The Museum Dingolfing (Dingolfing Museum) presents the history of the town and industry in Dingolfing from its beginnings to the present day. In the Herzogsburg, history from the Neolithic Age to the recent past is brought to life with the help of around 1500 exhibits. In the former grain store, visitors can trace the industrial development of the town from the manufacture of sowing machines to the high-tech automobile on an area of around 1000 m². The history of the Glas company, which has been based in Dingolfing since 1905, is documented. With the construction of the legendary Goggomobil from 1955, the company developed the town into an important industrial location and was taken over by BMW AG in 1966. The focus of the collection is on exhibits that show the way to the industrial age.
