Geologisches Museum München (Geological Museum Munich)
The approximately 450 m² Geological Museum is located in a building complex of the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. The permanent exhibitions "Earth's Crust in Transition" and "Earth's Mineral Resources" use the interacting processes of sedimentation, mountain building, volcanism and plate tectonics to explain how the earth works and how mineral raw materials are formed. Under the motto "Bavaria's rocky history", visitors can embark on an interactive journey through time into Bavaria's millions of years old past and learn about important natural building blocks. Pull-out drawers invite visitors to examine rocks and "grasp" them. Special exhibitions complement the activities of the Geologisches Museum Munich (Geological Museum Munich).
