The traditional costumes of the Forchheim area and Franconian Switzerland have become a precious rarity. The Trachtenmuseum (Museum of traditional costumes) preserves the knowledge of the different forms (festive, workday and mourning costumes) and the variety of fabrics and accessories, such as the magnificent golden bridal crowns. Original objects tell "dress stories", they inform about the function of the individual items of clothing and thus also a bit about life in times gone by.
