Museum Rupertiwinkel (Museum Rupertiwinkel)
Rupertiwinkel - named after the "Apostle of Bavaria" and first bishop of Salzburg - can look back on a long and rich history. It can be experienced in the Museum Rupertiwinkel (Museum Rupertiwinkel), which is housed in the former prince-bishop's castle in Tittmoning and presents its extensive collections in 23 historical showrooms: Craft and agricultural tools, magnificent tiled stoves, folklore artefacts, ceramics, furniture and paintings tell the story of bourgeois and rural life and bear witness to the cultural diversity of the region. A special feature are the 130 Tittmoninger marksmen's discs dating from 1600 to 1930 and the wrought-iron grave crosses from the 18th and 19th centuries. Numerous finds date back to prehistoric and early historical times, including a Roman mosaic floor. The attic of the castle, which served as a reception centre for displaced persons in 1946, houses the Sudeten German Landsmannschaft's Heimatstube, a museum of cultural artefacts from the displaced territories.
