Museum am Dom Passau (Museum at the Cathedral Passau)
It is worth climbing the spiral staircase in the southern nave of the cathedral, because masterpieces of Romanesque to Baroque artistry await at its end. In the rooms of the "Saalbau", which connects Passau Cathedral with the prince-bishop's residence, the Museum am Dom Passau (Museum at the Cathedral Passau) displays around 100 exhibits - including monstrances, chalices, paraments, sculptures and paintings - covering 800 years of history, faith and piety in the diocese of Passau. The highlight is the former prince-bishop's library with its baroque furnishings: an appropriate setting for the Domschatz (Cathedral treasure) on display here.
