Käthe-Kruse-Puppen-Museum (Käthe Kruse Doll Museum)
"I won't buy a doll for you. I think they're nasty. Why don't you make your own!" This sentence by Max Kruse was the beginning of a "doll revolution", because his wife Käthe promptly took action and made a completely new kind of doll for her daughter: soft, movable and suitable for children. That was in 1904, and even today the popular Käthe Kruse dolls are still elaborately handmade - since the post-war period exclusively in Donauwörth. In a former monastery from the 17th century, the museum shows more than 140 dolls from the last 100 years, lovingly arranged in small sceneries. Life-size figures made by Käthe Kruse in 1939 for the World Exhibition in New York are also on display. A film on doll making and an interview with Käthe Kruse complete the exhibition.
