Heimatmuseum Günzburg (Museum of local history Günzburg)
The museum presents the historical and cultural memory of the town of Günzburg on three floors. The exhibition impressively conveys where the first traces of settlement were found in the town area 4000 years ago, why Roman coins were not only used for payment and which accessories accompanied Günzburg citizens in their everyday lives 150 years ago. The museum collection focuses on prehistoric and Roman archaeology, sacred art in paintings and sculpture from the Gothic period to the 19th century, religious craftsmanship of the 18th and 19th centuries as well as objects from the history of rule and everyday culture from Günzburg and the surrounding area.
