Glasmuseum (Glass Museum)
The Glasmuseum (Glass Museum) Waldkraiburg uses the example of northern Bohemia to show how simple raw glass is transformed into an artistically painted or elaborately cut and engraved jewel and how styles and fashions have changed over time. From the oldest pieces from the 18th century to modern works from the Waldkraiburg glassworks, exhibits from almost three centuries can be seen here - a unique collection in the region. The focus is on glass as a luxury product, especially in the Biedermeier and Historicist periods. At the same time, the museum illustrates the work of a glassworks and the life and work of ordinary glassmakers a hundred years ago. Another theme is the famous glass schools and glass companies in Haida and Steinschönau from the turn of the century to the 1930s.
