The broad spectrum of the newly renovated Diözesanmuseum Freising (Diocesan Museum Freising) ranges from early Byzantine works to contemporary art. The focal points of the precious display collection are the late medieval ecclesiastical art of Old Bavaria, Swabia and the Alpine region as well as art-historically significant works of the South German Baroque and Rococo periods, but also artefacts from the fields of liturgy, popular piety, pilgrimage and monastic culture.
