DAS Klöppelmuseum (THE bobbin lace museum)
In order to earn extra money, many families in and around Nordhalben depended on home work - mainly lace-making, which was promoted in 1903 by the establishment of a state lace school. The illustrative material from this school, which includes not only bobbin lace but also various types of lace from all over Europe, is now open to the public in the bobbin lace museum (THE bobbin lace museum). The more than 400 exhibits not only show the craftsmanship, but also the social aspect of bobbin lace and home work.
