Staffelseemuseum (Lake Staffelsee Museum)
The museum covers a wide range of topics. Starting with the cultural history of the region dating back to the Bronze Age, which began on the island of Wörth. We also look at all aspects of the Staffelsee for the region; from its formation, flora and fauna to its use for fishing and its history, but also as part of the religious-historical tradition with the Corpus Christi procession, which is of supra-regional importance. Another topic is the art of reverse glass painting, which we explore in detail in the Staffelseemuseum (Staffelsee Museum). Seehausen, with the Gege and Noder dynasties of painters, was an important "centre" of this painting technique. The museum's flagship are the changing special exhibitions. In addition to the diversity of the themes, we also dedicate ourselves to the personalities/artists in the Staffelsee region and beyond, who have had a decisive influence on the region in particular, but whose work is not taken into account in the "big" museums.
