The DomagkAteliers have been an artists' colony in Munich, Schwabing-Nord, since 1993. The over 140 resident artists in 100 studios and 2 guest studios as well as the vastness of the site create a unique working atmosphere: artists from 20 nations come together here, from art professors to newcomers to the art scene. The U-shaped Haus 50 is owned by the City of Munich, which has renovated and restructured it. The Domagk studios are subsidised by the Cultural Department of the City of Munich. Haus 50 is operated by the non-profit DomagkAteliers GmbH. The DomagkAteliers will continue to expand their presence and significance in the future by expanding their activities and creating a sophisticated programme with international networking and exhibition projects: Exchange projects, curated and non-curated exhibitions, in-house productions as well as invited projects and concerts will take place in halle50, a 160 square metre event space. Every year, the studios open for the DomagkAtelierTage; the artists present their works for four days in the studios, in halle50 and in the outdoor areas. This event usually attracts several thousand visitors who are looking for direct contact with the artists - or simply want to enjoy the extensive programme of events, performances and concerts. The events on offer at the DomagkAteliers range from exhibitions, concerts, documentation and discussion events to lectures, workshops, educational programmes for adults and children, media workshops, video nights, readings, open events with a wide range of communication, educational and experiential opportunities, enabling visitors to get up close and personal with art.
