Römerkastell Abusina (Abusina Roman Fort)
Fort Abusina protected the confluence of the Abens and the Danube between 80 and 450 AD. Auxiliary units of about 500 men were stationed here. The visitor enters the archaeological open-air site through the camp village before reaching the central administrative buildings of the fort. There is also a small fort on the site, which the greatly reduced garrison built around 300 AD as the last bastion of the empire. "Gates into the past" with information graphics and acoustic collages allow visitors to immerse themselves in Roman life on the fringes of the empire.
