Landschaftsmuseum Obermain auf der Plassenburg (Obermain Landscape Museum at Plassenburg Castle)
Deciphering the world view of the High Middle Ages by computer is possible here with a copy of the Ebstorf world map from the late 13th century. True to its name, the Obermain Landscape Museum shows art and cultural history exhibits from the Obermain region. The thematic diversity ranges from the history of the earth and archaeology to the history of Kulmbach and the history of the Plassenburg (Plassenburg Castle). A special feature is the Pörbit treasure, which was buried during the Thirty Years' War and reflects the eventful history of the town and the castle.
