Miltenberg is famous for its half-timbered houses, and so the three 16th century houses that house the Museum.Stadt.Miltenberg are already an important part of the exhibition with their stories. The "memory of the town" comprises 45 rooms and leads visitors along selected focal points through the development of Miltenberg and its region. For example, two Roman forts mark the beginning of the town's development. The "GlaubensSachen" section deals with Miltenberg's religious communities and shows a collection of Judaica and Christian art, and the collection on everyday life leads directly to the "Bavarian period" from 1816 onwards, where the introduction of new hollow and long measurements exemplifies the changes of that time.A gallery shows views of Miltenberg as well as paintings by local artists. There are also several special collections, such as a remarkable collection of toys with railways, steam engines, construction kits and optical devices.Giacomo Casanova and Northern Bohemia? Yes, it fits! The Venetian wrote a large part of his memoirs in Dux Castle. This episode and many other things from the lost homeland in the former Dux (today Duchcov) in North Bohemia are recalled in the collection in the Heimatstuben Kreis Dux. Another focus is on the products of the Dux porcelain factory Eichler around 1900, especially figurines influenced by Art Nouveau.
