Lachner-Museum (Lachner Museum)
Learning to play the piano without a piano? That's possible! The father of the Lachner brothers painted keyboards on a wooden bench in the living room, where the children practised silently. Only at weekends did they rehearse on the church organ. And yet Franz, Ignaz and Vinzenz Lachner were later among the most respected musicians of the 19th century, Franz Lachner even becoming Royal Bavarian Court Kapellmeister and composer as well as General Music Director. The museum uses original documents, manuscripts and printed music as well as the artistic estate of Vinzenz Lachner to show the music-historical connections. The four rooms of the Lachner birthplace also give an impression of the cramped living conditions of the eighteen-member family.
