What influence did monasteries have on the development of early medieval Europe? This question is explored in the Klostermuseum Heidenheim (Heidenheim Monastery Museum), one of Franconia's original monasteries. The small exhibition revolves around the history of the monastery and Christianisation, with other rooms dedicated to the monastery founders and Eichstätt diocesan saints Wunibald, Willibald and Walburga and displaying original objects that are part of the Heidenheim "church treasure". The centrepiece of the small exhibition is a high-tech display case that reacts to eye movements and provides visitors with detailed information about the exhibits on display in an innovative way.
