The Kaiserin Elisabeth Museum of the municipality of Pöcking is located in the historic Possenhofen railway station, built under King Ludwig II. Empress Elisabeth (called Sisi) first arrived here in 1869 in her salon carriage. She and her family members as well as emperors, kings and the nobility used the state salon of 1865, one of the 4 museum rooms, for their arrival and departure. The unique permanent exhibition on "Empress Elisabeth and her family" is constantly changing due to new acquisitions, so it remains exciting to go on a voyage of discovery in the footsteps of the Empress of Austria and Queen of Hungary.
