Prof. Hermann Oberth (1894-1989), who lived in Feucht for many years, was probably the most important pioneer of space travel and rocket technology. As early as the 1920s, he laid the scientific foundations of this new technology in his books and developed the first space engine. The museum named after him brings the history of space travel closer with numerous originals and models. Among other things, a Russian cosmonaut suit, the boarding suit of the German D1 astronaut Ernst Messerschmid, a model of the "Sputnik I" and the third stage of the "Europa 1" launch vehicle can be marvelled at and original material samples can also be touched. The "Experience Space" programme offers children and young people in particular the opportunity to get to grips with the subject in a playful way, including easy-to-understand physical experiments.
