Glasmuseum Passau (Glass Museum Passau)
Showcase after showcase, room after room line up in the "most beautiful glass house in the world" (Friedrich Dürenmatt), it shines and sparkles white, green, blue, yellow ... The Glasmuseum Passau (Glass Museum Passau) has the world's largest collection of European glass and offers a unique overview of three centuries of glass history in Europe. Four patrician houses from the 14th to the 16th century, including the former city court and the traditional hotel "Wilder Mann" (in which, even if it seems rather unimportant in view of the abundance of exhibits, even Empress Sisi once spent the night), form the sophisticated setting. The more than 15,000 glasses on display, arranged according to glassworks, give an impression of the incredible variety of glass production in Bavaria, Bohemia, Austria and Silesia in the period from 1650 to 1950.Also in the "Wilder Mann" building complex is the largest German-language cookbook collection, parts of which are on display in the Glasmuseum (Glass Museum).
