Gärtner- und Häckermuseum (Gardener and Winegrower Museum)
The "Gärtnerviertel" (gardeners' quarter) is one of Bamberg's sights and is evidence of an important branch of the city's economy since the late Middle Ages. In a typical gardener's house from 1767, the Gärtner- und Häckermuseum (Gardener and Winegrower Museum) invites visitors to learn about the culture and history of the inner-city vegetable and wine gardeners (the "Häcker") as well as about gardening around 1900. The adjoining garden shows the historical cultivation forms and vegetable crops of the Bamberg gardeners around 1910 as well as the contemporaneous Häckerflur elements.
