Doktor-Eisenbarth- und Stadtmuseum (Doctor Iron Barth and City Museum)
Doctor Eisenbarth" owes his dubious fame as a quack to a drinking song. The museum named after him, however, shows Johann Andreas Eisenbarth (1663-1727) from Oberviechtach as he really was: a competent, enterprising and successful physician and pharmacist. Visitors leave the "Gold" section as experts in gold mining, with knowledge about the rich gold deposits in the region as well as medieval mining methods. In addition to local history, the connection between crafts, house names and Oberviechtach dialect is also revealed. In addition, there is a collection of reverse glass paintings of the "Winklarn School" of the 18th and 19th centuries as well as an originally furnished study commemorating the great patrons of the town, Dr. Max and Margret Schwarz.
