Deutsches Theatermuseum (German Theatre Museum)
Yesterday's theatre evening is already theatre history and memory today. It is the task of the Deutsches Theatermuseum (German Theatre Museum) to collect and preserve these. With its extensive and diverse holdings, it is one of the most important theatre collections in the world, with stage and costume designs, architectural plans (including those of Gottfried Semper) and portraits of theatre professionals. The scope ranges from the Renaissance to the present day. The museum also has the world's most extensive collection of theatre photographs.
