Conditorei-Museum (Confectionery Museum)
The "sweet art" has a long tradition in this Renaissance burgher's house dating from 1556. Kitzingen's first confectioner's shop was opened here in 1831, after gingerbread cooks had worked in the property for over 100 years before that. Today it is home to the Conditorei-Museum (Confectionery Museum), which has set itself the task of preserving the original inventory. Valuable wooden models from the 18th century can be found alongside rare moulds for frozen food and a variety of baking moulds made of pewter, copper and earthenware, as well as many colourful examples of confectionery from the old days. The museum has a special archive for the confectionery trade with specialist books from the 18th century to the middle of the 20th century, catalogues and graphics.
