Today, the castle ruins are the landmark of Flossenbürg and the Northern Upper Palatinate Forest Nature Park. Its history and the excavation work are documented in the castle museum. A piece of local history remains alive in the Steinhauermuseum (Stone carving museum). It shows memorabilia and explanations of granite mining in the Flossenbürg quarries in the 20th century.
