Alltag. Rüstung. Vernichtung – der Landkreis Mühldorf im Nationalsozialismus (The district of Mühldorf under National Socialism)
Daily life during the Nazi dictatorship in a rural Bavarian region is illuminated by the permanent exhibition "Everyday life. Armour, Extermination - The District of Mühldorf under National Socialism". The exhibition centres on the history of the subcamp in Mühldorfer Hart. From mid-1944, the Nazi leadership deported over 8,000 mostly Jewish concentration camp prisoners to the region for a gigantic armaments project. Almost half of them died as a result of the inhumane living and working conditions. The exhibition also focuses on the - initially inadequate - reappraisal of the events. Numerous objects, photos, videos, documents and eyewitness accounts provide an intensive insight into a time that still has an impact today.
