The city of Bayreuth has set up a memorial in the birthplace of the social democrat, trade unionist and resistance fighter Wilhelm Leuschner (1890-1944), who was executed in the course of the persecution of the assassins of 20 July 1944. The individual stages of Leuschner's life are presented in four rooms with documents, photos and personal objects. A short film about his fight against National Socialism from 1933 to his execution in 1944 was filmed at original locations especially for the memorial and supplemented with original film passages.
