Stadtmuseum Schwandorf (City Museum Schwandorf)
Did you know that a Fronberg woman can be found in the Ludwig I Gallery of Beauty or that Oskar von Miller made the electric cooker famous throughout Germany with the help of Schwandorf housewives? The Stadtmuseum Schwandorf (City Museum Schwandorf) reveals numerous interesting stories about the region, starting with stone tools and ceramics from prehistoric and early historical times and extending through the newly told history of the town to the present day. Religious history, crafts and the industrial history, which is particularly important for the town, are revealed from unexpected perspectives in the media stations. The varied journey through time concludes with a look at the natural areas of the present in the central Upper Palatinate: they are presented in an exciting multimedia format in the Nature Info Centre on the top floor.
