Schloss Spielberg (Spielberg Castle)

The collection "Ernst Steinacker - Museum of Contemporary Art" is presented in and around the buildings of Schloss Spielberg (Spielberg Castle).The former ancestral seat of the Princes of Oettingen-Spielberg has been preserved in its overall oval shape from around 1400. Inside, the castle has been remodelled several times, most recently extensively by the Steinacker family of artists, who have set up a museum in the castle for the life's work of the sculptor and painter Ernst Steinacker (1919-2008). Other special features of the museum are the castle chapel, the figure meadow, the natural monument "Celtic Hill" and, last but not least, an impressive panoramic view.
