Säulenhalle des Bayerischen Landesamts für Denkmalpflege (Columned hall of the Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Historical Monuments)
The Bavarian State Office for the Preservation of Monuments has been based in the "Alte Münze" (Old Mint) in the middle of Munich's old town since 1986. The building was erected in 1563-67 for Duke Albrecht V as a chamber of art and curiosities. The magnificent Renaissance courtyard has been preserved despite the extensive destruction of the war in 1943/45. The building served as a royal mint from 1810. Exhibitions are held regularly in the hall of columns of the "Old Mint".
