RothenburgMuseum (Rothenburg Museum)
The former Dominican convent (built from 1258), one of the town's most important architectural monuments, is now home to the RothenburgMuseum (RothenburgMuseum). The collection of Rothenburg art and culture, furniture, paintings and objects relating to the town's history, crafts and religion is exhibited in the former assembly, living, sleeping and utility rooms with their beamed constructions dating from around 1300 to the 16th century, as well as in the banqueting hall with its colourful stucco ceiling (1725-1732). Particularly noteworthy are the 12 panel paintings of the Rothenburg Passion from 1494, the prehistory and early history, the history of the medieval Jewish community of Rothenburg and the Baumann Foundation with its valuable weapons, faience, models and pewter.
