There used to be more hustle and bustle: recent excavations in front of the thermal baths have revealed that they were once located in the centre of a densely built-up, flourishing camp village. The Römische Thermen (Roman thermal baths) in Weißenburg are among the best-preserved and most important thermal bath complexes in southern Germany. Today, their remains are located under a tent roof construction and can be visited via walkways. In the thermal baths information building, a virtual ideal reconstruction recreates the baths from 150 AD and a 3D film shows key finds from Roman Weißenburg, while the nearby equestrian fort Biriciana can be visited throughout the day.
