The small light railway chugs comfortably along the edge of the "Kendlmühlfilzen" nature reserve (Chiemsee raised bog) with a view of the Chiemgau Alps as the end of the tour through the Bavarian Peat and Bog Museum. The museum is housed in the former Rottau Torfbahnhof (Museum peat station), an industrial monument dating back to 1920, where you can learn lots of interesting facts about moors, from their formation to the history of peat extraction.
