Museum im Pflegschloss (Museum in the Castle)
The Schrobenhausen town museum in the ducal palace from the early 16th century provides an insight into the 1200-year history of the town and the surrounding area. Exhibits from the field of folklore and religion provide an insight into everyday life, while valuable ecclesiastical sculptures from the 15th century onwards, including a female saint from the circle of the famous sculptor Hans Leinberger, complete the collection. Another focus of the museum is on local industrial history, illustrated by the example of the Carl Poellath coin and minting works, which is still in production today. Objects from prehistoric times are displayed in a staging of the work of an archaeologist. In the extension, the museum also presents works by the Schrobenhausen-born art nouveau artist and graphic designer Joseph Kaspar Sattler (1867-1931). The museum's permanent exhibition is currently being redesigned. Special exhibitions will continue to take place.
