"Man and Authority in a Franconian Rural Community - Everyday Life in a Village of the Electorate of Mainz" is the motto of the Museum im Alten Rathaus (Old Town Hall). And so local history is shown on the basis of the (in)direct influence of the government on life in the village. Individual stations highlight topics such as "Mönchberg as a market town", "Market and measurements", "Delusion and reality", "Clerical and secular power", "Citizens and authorities", "Guild and pilgrimage".
