The private Museum für Militär- und Zeitgeschichte Stammheim (Museum of Military and Contemporary History Stammheim) offers a journey through 200 years of military history with a special reference to Franconia. The 17,000 square metre exhibition spans from the Napoleonic era to German reunification. The museum contains 20,000 exhibits, pictures and documents as well as a jet aeroplane. Over 250 wheeled, tracked, water and air vehicles and large-scale equipment demonstrate the development of military technology, while dioramas make history tangible.
