The history of the Regnitz Valley has always been characterised by traffic: where medieval kings travelled and Nuremberg merchants brought their goods all over the world, high-speed roads for cars and trains run today. The museum in Sassanfahrt Castle shows how villages in the present-day municipality of Hirschaid and their inhabitants live and deal with this. Fossils and prehistoric and early historical artefacts are also on display.
