Over 1000 years of legal history on an exhibition area of around 3000 m²: the Mittelalterliches Kriminalmuseum (Medieval Crime Museum) houses an important collection of legal history. In addition to instruments of torture and devices for the execution of corporal, life and honour punishments, the museum also exhibits valuable paintings, prints, engravings, seals and law books. The most prominent exhibits are the so-called Iron Maiden of Nuremberg, which Bram Stoker also adapted into literature, and replicas of the imperial insignia.
