The MEWO Kunsthalle (MEWO Art Gallery) presents an ambitious exhibition programme on 20th and 21st century art. It offers direct access to current artistic production and integrates it into an art-historical context. The MEWO Art Gallery (MEWO Kunsthalle) is located in the former Royal Bavarian Post Office, right next to Memmingen railway station. On 750 m² of exhibition space, there is plenty of room for traditional exhibitions and experimental formats. The diverse rooms are arranged on three floors around the covered atrium - from the spacious and light parcel hall on the ground floor to the excellently equipped graphics cabinet in the attic. The municipal collections on the Memmingen-born painters Max Unold (1885-1964), co-founder of the "Munich New Secession" (1913), and Josef Madlener (1881-1967), the "painter of Swabian Christmas", are also on display.
